ten years…just wow
As of today, Colleen and I have been married for ten years.
I wish I could come up with something clever to mark the occasion, but honestly, I’m a little overwhelmed* by the milestone. We’ve had a good run so far; sure, there’ve been a few bumps, but we manage to get past them and keep at it, because it’s worth it. We compliment each other well, each shoring up the other’s weaknesses, making us much more formidable as a team than we are separately.
And of course. one is always ready to stop the other before they do something collossally stupid, which, one could argue, is the highest duty of a good spouse and partner.
There’s a lot about the whole arrangement that’s great; however, if I had to choose what I liked best about our partnership, it’s the years and years of great conversation. Conversation that often goes completely over the heads of everyone else in the room.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way, would we, my Dear? Happy Anniversary.

*Ten years is a big deal, definitely. Wanna know what’s really going to be weird? Come February 2011 when Colleen and I will have been a collective entity longer than we’ve been two separate ones!
