special, like stacked cordwood

You know what would be a useful special feature for future DVD/Blu-Ray discs of a certain genre?

A subtitle track with a running body count. Because as I watched Punisher: War Zone last night, I lost track around the chair-leg to the face during the mob dinner party opening scene. I’d estimate it was around 30 by that point, and probably well over triple digits by the end.

A running count would be an excellent public service.

well thanks, Internet! According to the folks at reelzchannel, the final on-screen tally was 97. I figured it was a bit higher.

And for the record, I was surprised I liked the movie as much as I did; I don’t normally go all in for the ultraviolence, and some of this film was WAY over the top. However, it was a fun action flick based on an avenging comic-book vigilante, and certainly not the biggest embarassment in my Marvel Comics film adaptation collection. After all, I own Man-Thing and Nick Fury: Agent of Shield.
