Friday Random Ten – July 6 edition
It’s pretty ubiquitious, so I shouldn’t need to explain it, but I will: Grab your digital music player of choice, hit shuffle, take note of the first ten songs that play, post ’em to your blog.
- Angeline is Coming Home (live) – The Badlees
- Kings of Metal – Manowar
- Buddy Holly – Barenaked Ladies
- The Devil’s Right Hand – Steve Earle
- Hold On – Tom Waits
- Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover – Sophie B Hawkins
- Sweet Surrender – Sarah McLachlan
- Tomorrow Comes A Day Too Soon – Flogging Molly
- I Walk The Line – Johnny Cash
- And Hiding Away – Innocence Mission
That’s that; a reasonable representation of what’s on the ipod right now, though probably a little light on hair metal and novelty tunes. Pfft.
And semi-related, while I know it’s complete and utter vacuous trifle, I am having way too much fun with Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend”. it’s certainly catchier than any of the other pop offerings this summer, doesn’t try to spell a word ending in “-ous” over and over, is refreshingly guitar based with a hint of a canadian accent, and includes some completely gratuitous profanity, which is always a good sign.
Hell Yeah, I’m the MotherF***ing Princess,
