I guess it’s Virginia primary season then: As I was driving back home after some errands yesterday afternoon, I saw a dozen or so happy warm-up suited Christian soldiers doing a little roadside campaigning; jumping up and down on the median at the intersection of US 1 and state route 10 waving balloons and Mike Huckabee signs.
One of them was wearing a trenchcoat and a Hillary Clinton mask. I don’t get it, but I’m not surprised that Huck’s got support here in my part of the world, where there are more storefront Baptist churches than there are people.
The Democratic candidates and some surrogates are starting to pop up around the state; both the Candidates will be in Richmond tomorrow night for the J-J Dinner, but I’m too poor and cheap to pony up for the tickets. I’m surprised Obama hasn’t scheduled an event with Gov. Kaine yet; he was one of the first to get on the Obama train. Maybe I just haven’t heard about it.
The next couple of days are going to be fun, or tedious, depending on how many robocalls I get.
Have good weekend! Send those emails!
