Temporal Anomalies
It was as if an occult hand had reached down from above and surreptitiously adjusted my alarm clock ahead twelve hours.
An occult hand, perhaps, but more likely, it was a bored former occupant of my hotel room having a bit of a laugh at my non-observant expense.
Damn the lack of standards which exist among the manufacturers of mass market digital clock radios for indicating whether the time displayed is in the AM or the PM. I carefully set my alarm last night for 6:15am, but remained blissfully unaware of the fact that the clock believed it was 9am when I set it at (actual) 9pm…
…Until I woke up at 7:27 (am), mere minutes before I was set to pick up my co-worker at her hotel down the street. Luckily, I can get myself ready quickly should the need arise; we were on the road to the office by 8am, so little actual time was lost. It still sucks, however, and it’s not a great way to start the day, especially when I slept rather poorly last night anyway, fitfully resting in undconscious sympathy with my wife, who was dealing with baby, cranky thanks to the many shots she received from the pediatrician yesterday.
As a result, I am very tired.
On an unrelated note, I added a whole bunch of pictures to the gallery last night. Visitors can even add comments now. Feel free to take a look.
And I am now totally in awe of Chris Sims, not because he and I use the same wordpress theme, but because he not only recognizes the genius of the classic Eliza Dushku-Kirsten Dunst vehicle (and one of my favorite “comfort food” movies), Bring It On, but has taken it upon himself to devote an entire Theme Week to this film and its DTV sequels.
