the floor guy never did show this weekend, which kind of irks me – well more than kinda, but if we don’t hear from him today, I’ll swing by the place on my way home.  The saga continues.

Otherwise, we took care of a bunch of other things this weekend.  I did end up getting a decent burger at Fudruckers Saturday afternoon, and we did get some shopping done; baby stuff, comic book store (new She-Hulk this week, and Essential Marvel Two-In-One volume 2 – yay, 70s comics!), and a couple of otocinclus catfish for Colleen’s tank, to see about clearing out some of the algae problem she’s got.  They’re uncommon (I think we got the last two in town), but really cute little guys, who already seem to be going to work.

Sunday saw some more shopping, mostly just a big costco run, getting the usual staples, plus a couple of baby outfits and, much to the kids’ delight, the first two volumes of Animaniacs DVDs. This show was one of the strange things Colleen and I bonded over in college, and the kids seem to really like the bit we’ve shown them so far.

I also got a couple of the transformers movie toys, because I’m a total nerd.

After the shopping, we mostly hung about, doing laundry, paying bills, cleaning up, watching Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, and monitoring my downloads of Doctor Who episodes that have yet to reach our shores (don’t worry, BBC, I’ll buy the DVDs when they hit). All in all, a pretty standard payday weekend.

a few program notes nobody cares about after the jump…..

A couple of basic programming notes that I’m sure nobody cares about – I put up a “links” page off the blog, which is functional, even if I don’t quite like the layout just yet – still, the convenience of the wordpress application in terms of organization is winning out over the slight learning curve in tweaking the code.

And, given my sad XHTML/css chops, I can’t manage to get the old “reading”, “watching”, etc. blocks that I liked so much looking right anywhere, so, I’m playing around with categories; I’ll probably just mention stuff in the body of a post somewhere, and tag it with the proper category, so if you’re interested in what I’m watching or reading, you’ll be able to retrieve things easily.
