Friday Random Fourteen – “small crack in my cynicism ” edition
Fourteen because I felt like it, and possibly because I was a little distracted from the historical significance, and well, the sheer awesomeness of the speech (here’s video if you don’t feel like reading) last night.
I’m pretty sure it was worth keeping the eldest up for, even if she was more interested in seeing the Obama kids on stage (her peers, you know) than in why this particular event was especially important.
Even for this hardened cynic, it’s pretty encouraging to notice that for her generation, race isn’t even a consideration; someone’s skin color is no more or less important than someone’s eye color or soft drink preference. It gives me, you know, hope or something.
Anyway, here’s some tunes; enjoy your rainy labor day weekend!
