Friday random ten: “black” edition
I am glad that I am not out in the trenches malls today. There’s a reason why I do all my shopping online. You folks have fun, though – I’m just not up to having to fight crowds of soccer moms in full make-up and designer sweatsuits skirmishing for a limited supply of cheap 720p HDTVs (and not just because if they knew what they were doing, they wouldn’t settle for any less than full 1080p).
I hope everybody had a nice Thanksgiving; not bad from our end; very low key, which is perfectly fine with me. A good meal, and some peace and quiet.
Then there was Rick Astley rickrolling the Macy’s parade, which was funny and cool, but is pretty much the death of that particular meme seeing as Matt Lauer was involved. I guess we’ll be getting the happycat balloon next year to top this?
I also took the two days leading up to Thansgiving off, one for an appointment, the nature of which I will not write about for fear of jinxing it’s successful resolution, and the next just because going to work M/W/F seemed profane. That, and Tuesday’s adventures had me too darned wired to sleep properly on Tuesday night.
Anyway, no big plans for the weekend; bills, groceries, etc, and if the sinuses play nice, some more leaves. In the meantime, here are your black friday tunes (and this list goes to eleven – consider it your holiday bonus):
