friday random ten: “temporal sibling transferrence” edition
27 Mar
A little heavy on the 90s “alternative” this week; well heavier than usual. Swap out a few of these for Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr and RHCP, you’ve got my little brother’s high school CD collection (“CDs? bah! We had our music on cassette tapes, and we liked it!”).
- “Cannonball” – The Breeders
- “Black Wave/Bad Vibrations” – Arcade Fire
- “Ain’t Talkin’ ’bout Love” – Slick Idiot
- “Unsung” – Helmet
- “Sister Jack” – Spoon
- “Push It” – Salt & Peppa
- “Any Given Day” – The Cellarbirds
- “Gardening At Night” – R.E.M.
- “Friends of P” – The Rentals
- “Galileo” – Indigo Girls
We’ll write off Salt & Pepa as an aberration on that front (it merely reminds me of skating rink days). But, if we’re talking 80s, my sister went to see the New Kids on the Block reunion show last week…oh oh oh oh oh.
You need to rock some “Cover Girl” in that list!!
March 28th, 2009 at 2:59 PMHEY! that one has SIX “oh”s – it doesn’t fit the pattern.
I think I did end up with a questionable mp3 file of that tune a couple of years ago, but I’m pretty sure it’s long gone.
