past the cast
I had my post-surgery follow-up appointment today, and all seems to be well. I’m healing up nicely, and the doc seems to think things are going well. The best news, however, is that the casts/bandages/stinky, non-removable stuff is gone, replaced with a reasonably unobtrusive nylon wrist brace that I can take off when I want to wash my hands, which is something I really enjoyed doing as soon as I got home.
Soap, water, moisturizer….wonderful, wonderful things. Dead skin washes off, and I can actually feel things again, and have a greatly increased range of motion in my fingers.
And, I talked the doctor into giving me a printout of one of today’s post-op x-rays, just so I could behold and display for all posterity, the two metal screws in my wrist. I share with you the image below:
All ought to be well in a few more weeks. I’ll be back to nothing but an interesting scar by Thanksgiving.
Wow! Now if I ask if you have a few screws loose, it could potentially be literal. Though I would certainly hope that was never the case. 😛
