a confluence of tracks six and three
The floor measurement’s done; they have our requirements and can work up a good estimate. Of course, the floor place, perfectly reasonably, is stretching out their Independence Day weekend (I really should have done that…), and won’t be back in the office until Monday.
“Share it fairly but don’t take a slice of my pie”
However reasonable, it’s still a source of stress for me, since I have this bucket of “project money” sitting there, and I have a bunch of other things I need to do, but I don’t know EXACTLY how much the floor’s going to cost, so I don’t quite know what the rest of the operating budget will look like after this bit comes out, and smaller little bits of life keep whittling away at the edges.
And the check I wrote to Costco last weekend hasn’t cleared yet, so the nice big number I’m seeing on the online banking site isn’t the real truth. Up-to-minute information on damned near everything is sometimes more trouble than it’s worth.
“Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day”
Oh well. Got the laundry done yesterday on the day off, so I won’t have to worry about much of it this weekend, so, yay for that. Too bad there are a bunch of other things filling the time; doctor’s appointments, Andrew’s martial arts class, the kids’ tour of the maternity ward at the hospital, picking up new beds for the girl(s)’ room…
breathe.
I’ll see you on the dark side,
