Comicon II: The Comickening (or, the geeking of the kid continues)
Today was another fine Sunday afternoon at the Central Virginia Comicon for Mary and I; poring through the fifty-cent longboxes for forgotten treasures worthy of an eight year old girl’s attention. This time, a bunch of Byrne She-Hulk (well, those were just as much for me, being the Jen Walters geek I am – thanks, Slott), Supergirl, Catwoman, wonder woman, and Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld, a book I’d never heard of, but Mary seemed to like.
(We also picked up some Moon Knight and Defenders for me, but I’m not the story here…)
Oh, and Mary picked up her first commissioned piece of artwork, a great sketch of Wonder Woman by indie artist Dan Nokes from 21st Century Sandshark Studios, which completely made the kid’s day.
I also picked up a ‘con preview edition of Dan’s book “The Paranormals” (which is damned good, incidentally – I need to track the back issues down) and a print of some zombie politicians (which is much cooler than it sounds).
I also did my taxes this weekend…so, that’s over with. yay.
Brains! And tax reform!
