even I have standards
A whole group of us made the trek over to the Navy Yard metro stop and Nationals Park to catch tonights Philly-Washington game after work. Last time, we walked right up to the box office and bought the five dollar tickets about five minutes before game time.
Today, however, we stood in line for quite a long time, waited for a bunch of drunk business types to remember their names to pick up their will-call tickets, and found that we couldn’t get anything for less than 33 bucks.
Damn You, Free T-Shirt Night promotion!
Needless to say, we turned around, got back on the train, and watched most of the game over dinner and drinks at the Crystal City Sports Pub , our semi-official hang-out for as long as I’ve been working on these projects.
And since I left the bar at the middle of the eighth, I salvaged the game for my Philadelphia friends (my presence seems to jinx the Phillies – whenever I’m watching them in person, or am in reasonable proximity to them while watching the game, they lose), since Philly won 2-1.
UPDATE: we did take a photo outside the park, just to prove we were there!
