Friday Random Ten: “definitely blah” edition
We slept peacefully through distant thunderstorms last night. The gentle tapping of raindrops on the house and the leaves on the trees outside imparts a unique calming feeling.
Of course, when one’s alarm clock goes off at 5:40am after such a restful night, one does not wish to leave the peace and comfort of one’s bed and spouse (particularly, when said spouse doesn’t need to wake for a while yet), both of which are soft and warm.
So, it’s already that kind of day.
The rest of my Friday, at least at this juncture, seems pretty sedate. I haven’t actually seen a living body in the office this morning, at least since I saw the cockroach scuttle across the threshold as I entered the building (yep, that kind of day). The girls are heading off this afternoon for a girl scout overnight, so Andrew and I are planning a boy’s night out; you know, booze, gambling, women of loose morals…
Or, pizza and a matinee of Iron Man; we haven’t decided yet.
Here’s the morning’s random musical accompaniment. Enjoy your Friday.
- “Johnny” – Innocent Nixon
- “I’m Sensitive” – Jewel
- “The Infinite Pet” – Spoon
- “Poor Places” – Wilco
- “Since You’re Gone” – The Cars
- “Only Women Bleed” – Lita Ford
- “The Ballad of Dick and Jane” – The Badlees
- “Gypsy Road” – Cinderella
- “Kenesaw Mountain Landis” – Jonathan Coulton
