Actually a pretty standard selection this week, including the one song I can confidently play on the mandolin (guess which one…if you dare), plus a couple of oddballs…. I mean, who has a copy of Michelle Pfeiffer singing lustily about Maxwell “Say No More, Mon Amour” Caulfield while she humps a ladder in Grease 2, or post-“Spinal Tap” stuff from Guest, Mckean, and Shearer?..well, besides me. that is?

I can kind of relax a little bit, after five weeks, the dance school finally took my money….yay. And I don’t think I have any plans for the weekend, other than maybe hitting the great little hole-in-the-wall mexican place for dinner tonight; it’s sad, I’ve kind of been hanging on that to get me through the week…
The first week back to work after being off so long took more out of me than I’d realized. It’s gotten better as the week’s gone on – I feel like I’m being reasonably useful, and I’m pretty sure the furtive looks were my imagination. Still, I’m at my work desk and not at home, which is, frankly, kind of weird and off-putting, and enough to set me on edge.
That, combined with the previously mentioned financial stressors, a cranky baby hitting her six-week growth spurt, lingering little kid overload at “back to school night” on Tuesday, and the sledgehammer of seasonal allergies really knocked me down yesterday, evidenced by the fact that I couldn’t knock out more than three stars on “Bark at the Moon” on Easy (!?!) last night when I played “Guitar Hero” for half an hour.
That said, happy Friday. If the spirit moves, toss me some musical recommendations, or your favorite palindrome, since that seems to be the theme this week….I won’t be afraid. I’ll even get things started…

eh, just to prove it’s random, out of the 4000-odd songs I have on the ‘pod, The Def Leppard tune at #10 also came up at #4 on July 20.
Weird.
