Friday Random Ten: “not dead, just distracted” edition
11 Jul
Yeah, I’ve barely posted all week. Just not much so say, and a few things to think about. If you mind, sorry. Please find below your weekly musical selections, as well as a couple of links to things that amused me:
- "Waitress in the Sky" – The Replacements
- "First of May" – Jonathan Coulton
- "Sexy Sadie" – The Beatles
- "What A Letdown" – Barenaked Ladies
- "Far Beyond the Sun" – Yngwie Malmsteen
- "Road to Paradise (live)" – The Badlees
- "Rock Box" – Run DMC
- "Can’t Get There From Here" – REM
- "I Love You" – The Pipettes
- "Courtney" – The Clarks
as promised, some links:
- Amuse your local parts counter! Order a Toyota emblem from a GM dealership!
- …but how will the plumbing needs of Flint, Michigan be met if all their indpendent plumbing contractors are serving time for Indecent Exposure ?
- Suburban Housewives (well, Taiwanese housewives, anyway) are expanding the installed linux base!
a couple of comments on the links:
– GM and Toyota have long been occasional partners – my Pontiac, for example, has a Toyota drivetrain. The real interesting thing about the GM/Toyota relationship is that there used to be a TRD-tuned Chevy Cavalier available in the Japanese Domestic Market. I’d like to see one of those, if only for the novelty.
– I think the baggy pants thing looks a bit silly, but poor fashion sense ought not be worth a 500 dollar fine.
– the real reason geeks are buying the more expensive Windows XP Eee isn’t Microsoft; it’s that the XP version has a bigger drive, and they’re going to format and install linux anyway.
