go vote
Really.
Yeah, I know most of you who aren’t in Virginia or New Jersey don’t have anything on the ballot of national or even statewide interest, but honestly, mayor, city councilman, alderman, county treasurer, and dog catcher are important jobs too; in fact, they probably have a greater effect on your daily life than the average congressperson or executive.
So, if you don’t know what’s going on in your area*, take a minute to go through yesterday’s local paper, or get on the internet and find out a little about who or what’s on the ballot, and go make your choice.
I’m stuck in DC this week, but I managed to submit my absentee ballot for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and my local House of Delegates representative last week at the Registrar’s office. I think you can manage to pop ’round the corner to your local polling place (if you don’t know, your municipality’s web site definitely has that information) and pull the lever, fill the bubble, punch the card, touch the screen, or however your area does it.
It’s really your duty as a citizen, you know…
