ostaran greetings
I missed posting on the actual vernal equinox, but all things being equal (HA!), I’m not particularly worried. I spent some pleasant time on Saturday afternoon riding the trails along the James, enjoying the pleasant warm springtime weather and the general majesty of nature, running in the bike after a welcome tune-up, and working toward knocking off the next ten or fifteen pounds, which, if nothing else, will make me feel better about myself, which I guess is obliquely related to the whole concept of spring renewal and rebirth, if you squint at the idea just right.
Oh, and I’m rather sure amongst all the cranes and waterfowl and turtles and raptors and squirrels I regularly see on my rides through this particular park, I saw a cavorting river otter, which, frankly, made my day, in the midst of a weekend that was compared to others in recent memory, pretty damned good, overall, for a variety of reasons.
