thursday random eleven – “because I won’t be here friday” edition
Hey folks, as evidenced below, since I’m taking a couple of days off to prepare for and recover from Ravencon (and also, because I deserve it), I probably won’t be in this space much, so why not throw up a playlist today while I’m going through my emails and sorting out the day?
I’ve already said more than enough about the weekend, but again, see the previous post here to see where and when we’ll be making the music this weekend; if you’re around, come see us (please come see us…)!
Otherwise, I thank the atmosphere for giving me some good weather yesterday to get a nice walk in over at the Petersburg Battlefield Park at lunchtime, and a nice bike ride in the afternoon. I’ve got the bike with me at work today to hit the trail again right after work before getting together with the band to run our sets one last time. I’ve spent a bit of time this weekshaking the rust off my guitar playing, getting off-book on everything, and finalizing the arrangements now that I’ve decided which instruments I’m using (for the record, I’m going amplified acoustic – I can get a bigger sound and simulate some percussion that way).
Anyway, here’s what Pandora spit out this morning:
- “Ashes to Ashes” – David Bowie
- “It Takes One to Know One” – The Donnas
- “Saggittarius”- Phoebe Green
- “Diplomat’s Son” – Vampire Weekend
- “Minstrel in the Gallery” – Jethro Tull
- “Don’t You (Forget About Me) – Simple Minds
- “Faithfully” – Journey
- “She’s Crushing My Mind” – Team Dresch
- “Simpatico” – NAVVI
- “Anonymous Faces” – Quix*o*tic
- “Dr. Feelgood” – Motley Crue
