Tuesday Wednesday Stay In Bed
I had a great time on Monday night, no question. However, being up that late, given how I’ve been sleeping the last week and a half, probably wasn’t the best thing for me. I went to bed early last night, though it was still a chore to pull myself out of bed this morning. One good night’s sleep doesn’t make up for a week of poor nights, apparently. It’s looking like another early night for me and a book, or possibly Mythbusters if it isn’t a re-run.
Mary was pretty nervous this morning; today begins her bout with Virginia’s Standards Of Learning tests. I spent a few minutes this morning on the phone trying to mitigate her fears about it – the schools appear to really put a huge amount of weight and pressure on these tests (after all, they’re really about how well the school is doing, rather than where the kids stand – I’ll leave all the implications of that for now), and, at least in my daughter’s case, cause students a great deal of anxiety.
I’m pretty sure she’ll do fine…she’s a smart kid.
Probably how Ronald Weasley feels every year taking his OWLS….except that I’m sure Mary pays WAY more attention than Ron 😉
